WFP giver kontantoverførsler i Ugandas hovedstad Kampala til 80.000 flygtninge, som lever i uformelle bosættelser og som er blevet hårdt ramt af konsekvenserne af COVID-19.
Ikke langt fra et af de mest velhavende nabolag i Ugandas hovedstad kæmper Adela Dagadi for at opfostre ti børn i hvad hendes søn kalder for "en ghetto".
ROM – I 2019 modtog FN’s World Food Programme (WFP) DKK 2,8 milliarder i fleksible bidrag, hvilket svarer til fem procent af WFP’s samlede bidrag – og væsentligt under rekorden på 19 procent i 2002.
Fleksible – eller ikke øremærkede – bidrag betyder, at WFP kan bestemme hvor og hvordan, pengene skal bruges.
WFP er til stede i over 120 lande og territorier. Vi yder livreddende assistance i nødsituationer og støtter bæredygtige og modstandsdygtige levebrød for at opnå en verden uden sult.

WFP’s kort over sult i verden viser forekomsten af underernæring blandt alle landes befolkninger mellem 2016-2018. Fra Afrika og Asien til Latinamerika og Mellemøsten er der 821 millioner mennesker – mere end 1 ud af 9 - som ikke får mad nok.

Inden næste Mors Dag vil 17 millioner piger under 19 år have født. For mange regeringer og udviklingsorganisationer udgør disse mødre, som ofte findes i lav- eller middelindkomstlande, to store udfordringer.
