The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World er en årlig rapport der udarbejdes i fællesskab mellem FAO, IFAD, UNICEF, WFP og WHO for at informere om fremskridt om at opnå en verden uden sult, opnå fødevaresikkerhed og forbedring af ernæring, og til at give en dybdegående analyse af centrale udfordringer for at nå dette mål i forbindelse med Verdensmålenes 2030-dagsorden.
For tredje år i træk stiger antallet af mennesker i verden, som sulter. Sidste år var der 821 millioner kronisk underernærede mennesker i verden, hvilket er en stigning fra 811 mio. året før. 1 ud af 9 lider af sult. Afrika er det område i verdenen med den største forekomst af sult - der er 1 ud af 5, som sulter i Afrika.
FN’s World Food Programme (WFP) har langvarige partnerskaber med tænketanke og den akademiske verden med ekspertise inden for en bred vifte af fagområder.
McCain, der siden 2021 har været USA's ambassadør for FN's tre fødevare- og landbrugsorganisationer i Rom, overtager ledelsen af en organisation der sidste år leverede fødevarehjælp til et rekordstort antal mennesker verden over: 158 millioner.
Konflikter, økonomiske chok, ekstreme klimaforhold og høje gødningspriser skaber tilsammen en fødevarekrise af hidtil uset omfang. Så mange som 783 millioner mennesker er usikre på hvor deres næste måltid kommer fra.
WFP er til stede i over 120 lande og territorier. Vi yder livreddende assistance i nødsituationer og støtter bæredygtige og modstandsdygtige levebrød for at opnå en verden uden sult.
FN's World Food Programme (WFP) anmoder om mere end DKK 797,2 millioner i bidrag til at hjælpe fordrevne og værtssamfund, som er presset til det yderste.
