I tre år drømte Yar Mayom Arok, mor til syv børn, hver dag om at vende tilbage til sit hjem i Jalle, en lille sydsudanesisk by i udkanten af Sudd - Afrikas største vådområde.
Hun og hendes familie flygtede fra deres hjem i 2020, da oversvømmelsesvand fra den nærliggende Nil-floden brød igennem et dige og oversvømmede deres by i den centrale del af landet.

Etiopien står i øjeblikket over for to nødsituationer som forværrer fødevareusikkerheden i landet.
Næsten to år efter starten af konflikt har mennesker brug for, mere end nogensinde, akut fødevarebistand i det nordlige Etiopien.
Social beskyttelse kan hjælpe folk med at håndtere de risici de står over for, f.eks. fattigdom, social udstødelse, ulighed og fødevareusikkerhed, og beskytte de mest sårbare mod chok og stress gennem hele deres liv.
Mød Halima
Denne historie ender nok ikke på den måde som du måske forventer. Den starter i Somalia, et land der er ramt af en tørke som har fået over 1 million mennesker til at forlade deres hjem. Halima og hendes familie var blandt dem.
Halima kæmpede mod den vedvarende sol for at finde nok vand til sin familie. Efterhånden måtte der træffes valg.
Det er ikke engang middag i Satara, en fjerntliggende landsby i Nigers sydvestlige Tillaberi-region, og termometeret er allerede tæt på 40 grader celsius. Den ubefæstede vej til landsbyen er ujævn og sandet.
FN's World Food Programme (WFP) står til enhver tid i frontlinjen i kampen mod sult. Tusindvis af dedikerede medarbejdere bruger deres ekspertise og alle de midler de har til rådighed - lastbiler, fly, skibe, helikoptere og endda amfibiekøretøjer - til at sikre, at store mængder fødevarer og andre vigtige varer når frem til dem der har mest brug for dem.
KØBENHAVN – FN’s World Food Programme (WFP) advarede i dag om en eskalerende humanitær krise drevet af udbredt vold og de langvarige påvirkninger af klimaforandringer, som har ramt Burkina Faso og nabolandene i det Centrale Sahel i Vestafrika.
