FN's World Food Programme (WFP) står til enhver tid i frontlinjen i kampen mod sult. Det er ikke engang middag i Satara, en fjerntliggende landsby i Nigers sydvestlige Tillaberi-region, og termometeret er allerede tæt på 40 grader celsius. Den ubefæstede vej til landsbyen er ujævn og sandet.
